It is with great pleasure that I welcome you to the official webpage of the Centre for Continuing Education of the University of Medical Sciences, Ondo the first specialized University Medical University in Nigeria.
The Centre was Established and approved by the University Senate in 2018. The purpose of the Centre is to put in place appropriate arrangements for further education and training of candidates with requisite qualifications by designing suitable Courses/Programmes to meet the requirements of different target groups ranging from O’level certificate holders seeking admission into all health science related courses through our Pre-Degree and Foundation Science/JUPEB Programme to Health personnel seeking to obtain higher certification in all health related discipline through our proposed Conversion, Part-time and Open and distance learning programmes.

1) To identify and develop relevant skills and capacity building courses for health workers.
2) To initiate and effectively implement diploma and short certificate programmes.

The mission of the Centre for Continuing Education is to evolve appropriate teaching norms, methods and providing modern technological facilities for educational services for responsive and quality learning opportunities to meet international standard.
AVAILABLE PROGRAMMES
The following are numbers of available programmes under the Centre:
Pre-Degree Science Programme (PDSP)
The Pre-degree Science Programme runs for one academic session of two semesters in preparation for admission into 100level Undergraduate Department of choice in the University. The programme involves intensive training of candidates with requisite qualification of secondary school certificate or its equivalents.
Foundation Science Programme (FSP)
The Foundation Science Programme is in affiliation with the Joint Universities Preliminary Examination Board (JUPEB). The programme is for a duration of one academic session of two semesters after which the candidate will gain admission into 200level Undergraduate Department of choice in the University.
The FSP provides an intensive training of the students based on Advanced Level (A-Level) Syllabus at the end of which JUPEB will set the qualifying examination the students will sit for in order to be admitted.
Proposed Programmes
The Centre is currently working on initiating and implementing part-time Programmes and Open and Distance Learning Programmes in all related disciplines which will enable many to have access to quality educations in their course of choice.
