Dr OM Ijomone is a highly dynamic biomedical academic with keen interests for neuroscience research that holds translational relevance. He obtained his PhD in 2015 at the Obafemi Awolowo University. His research activities are focused in neurotoxicology, neurodevelopment, and neurodegeneration. In 2021, he was named an Affiliate of the African Academy of Sciences, having been listed among 40 outstanding early career researchers in the continent. Some of his notable fellowships/grants include, IBRO-ISN Research Fellowship (2017), IBRO Return Home Fellowship (2018), ISN-CAEN 1B Grants (2019 and 2021), Young IBRO Award (2019), Alexander von Humboldt Georg Foster Research Fellowship for Experienced Researchers (2020), IBRO Early Career Award (2021). Furthermore, in 2022 he received the US National Institutes of Health K43 Emerging Global Leader Award. Following the award, he was appointed a Visiting Assistant Professor at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine, USA, where he collaborates on the K43 research project.
