Mr. Walter Bankole Osungbemiro is an Assistant Lecturer in the Department of Chemistry. He is interested in researching the relationship between the environment, water quality, and health. He is also interested in researching the fate, distribution, and interaction of pollutants in the environment (water and soil).
Mr. Osungbemiro joined UNIMED in 2015 as Administrative Officer I in the Academic Affairs Unit of the Registry, He was Faculty Officer in the Faculty of Basic Medical Sciences for a brief period in 2020. He was later transferred to manage the administration of the Office of Research Innovation and Development (ORID), now Central Officer of Research and Development (CORD).
In 2016 and 2017 he received the Vice-Chancellor’s Outstanding Staff Merit Prize for his contributions to the mission and vision of the University.
He has a B.Sc degree in Chemistry as well as a Master of Science degree in Environmental Control and Management from the Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU), Ile Ife. He obtained his postgraduate research training at the Institute of Ecology and Environmental Science OAU. Mr. Osungbemiro has published peer-reviewed articles in indexed scientific journals and remains engaged in research particularly the relationship between the environment, water quality, and health.
He brings to the Department vast experience acquired as secretary and Member of over thirty (30) university committees as well as from several ad hoc assignments in the areas of research management and academic affairs.
