Professor Ademola H. Fagbami is the current Head, Department of Microbial Pathology, Faculty of Basic Clinical Sciences, University of Medical Sciences, Ondo. He was admitted to the University of Ibadan in 1965 to study Veterinary Medicine and graduated in 1971 with a degree of Doctor of Veterinary Medicine and a departmental prize in Veterinary Anatomy and Physiology.
Professor Fagbami was appointed Research Fellow II at the Virus Research Laboratory (now Department of Virology), College of Medicine University of Ibadan in 1971 and was promoted to the grade of Professor in 1981. He was a visiting Professor or Scientist to several institutions including Yale University School of Medicine, New Haven, Connecticut, USA, Centre for Disease Control and Prevention, Atlanta, Georgia, USA, University of Hawaii, School of Medicine, Honolulu, USA, Bloomberg School of Public Health, Johns Hopkins University, Baltimore, Maryland, USA and several other academic institutions in Europe and Oceania.
