I am Dr (Mrs.) Akpalaba Immaculata O., an Ear, Nose and throat Surgeon, a Fellow of the West African College of Surgeons (FWACS), a Senior Lecturer and honorary consultant with the teaching hospital.
I obtained my 1st degree from Ebonyi State University, Abakaliki, where I graduated as "one of the Overall Best Ten graduating students" in March 2004. My Residency training was in University of Benin Teaching Hospital, Edo state. One month after obtaining my Fellowship, I won a prize as the 'Best Young consultant Paper Presenter ' by the Otorhinolaryngological society of Nigeria, (ORLSON) in November 2015 at Calabar. I was also awarded 3rd best Poster Presenter by the Nigerian Young Academy, UNIMED, 2018.
I am the Deputy director, Centre for Health Professions and Biomedical Education, CeHPBE, UNIMED.
My interests are in researches on special individuals, general E.N.T., Community services, Preventive Medicine, rehabilitative medicine and facial reconstruction in Ear, Nose and Throat.
My hobbies are singing and writing saxophone scripts.
