Dr Michael Ogbonnia Egwu is a reader in Physiotherapy who specializes in Musculoskeletal Pain Management using manipulative therapy and other non-pharmacologic and natural means. He has over 26 years experience in undergraduate and postgraduate teaching and has been involved in basic, applied and clinical research and community service. Dr Egwu is a former Head of Department of Medical Rehabilitation in Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU), a Consultant Physiotherapist to OAU Teaching Hospitals Complex and has been a member of the Medical Rehabilitation Therapist Board of Nigeria, OAU Postgraduate Board and other boards in OAU and currently a member of University of Medical Sciences Advisory Committee. Dr Egwu is proficient in electroencephalography and the diagnosis and treatment of symptoms of spinal dysfunction mimicking systemic diseases such as radiculopathy and cervico-cranial headache which are some of the major ailments that lead to medical tourism abroad whereas it can be treated locally.
