Alex Payim Igbe was born on the 3rd of March 1970 at Oda-Akure in Ondo State to the family of Mr and Mrs John Emu Igbe of Emonu-Orogun, Ughelli North local goververmnet area of Delta state.
He attended St James primary School Oda and had his secondary education at Omoluorogbo Grammer School Akure. He thereafter proceeded to the University of Nigeria, Nsukka where he obtained his MBBS degree in 1997. In 2008, he bagged the Fellowship of the West African College of Physicians(FWACP) in the Faculty of Laboratory Medicine.
Dr AP Igbe is an Associate Professor at Ambrose Alli University on sabbatical appointment with University of Medical Sciences where he is the current Acting Head, Department of Anatomic Pathology, Faculty of Basic Clinical Sciences.
