Dr. Jacob Olalekan Arawande is a Reader and current Ag. Director (Odosida Campus), former Acting Director (SIWES Unit) and Acting Head of Chemistry Department at University of Medical Sciences, Ondo-City, Ondo-State, Nigeria. He graduated with First Class and Distinction in his Undergraduate and Postgraduate studies. He has a Ph.D Degree in Chemistry (with specialization in Analytical Chemistry). His major area of research is food analyses/chemistry and the use of plant extracts in preserving edible oils.He has been able to identify many vegetables and fruit peels that their extracts are useful as antioxidants in combating edible oil deterioration. Dr. Arawande is a registered member of Science Association of Nigeria(SAN), Chemical Society of Nigeria (CSN), Nigerian Institute of Science Laboratory Technology (NISLT) and Nigerian Institute of Food Science Technology(NIFST). He has sixty-two (62) articles in reputable local, national and international journals, fourteen (14) conference published proceedings and four (4) published textbooks.He has attended many academic conferences both locally and internationally.
