Short Biography
Wahab Oyedele Owolawi. M.Sc, Ph.D
(Prof. & Head, Department of Audiology and Speech-Language Therapy)
Prof. Owolawi is a clinician, researcher and teacher in audiology.
His major area of focus are noise-induced hearing loss, early detection of hearing loss in children, ototoxicity and aural (re)habilitation.
As a former faculty at the University of Witwatersrand, Johannesburg, South Africa he made his mark as a member of the prestigious University research ethics committee.
He equally served as a visiting professor/external examiner to the then Medical University of South Africa (Medunsa)-now University of Limpopo, Medunsa campus, South Africa.
Prof. Owolawi was an internal supervisor to Ph.D students in a joint programme of University of Leeds, UK and King Saud University, Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
He serves on the editorial board of many professionally related academic journals and has several academic publications to his credit. He has a flair for reading and writing.
