Victor Ibrahim Kolo (PhD) is a Medical Sociologist/Anthropologist, and Catalyst Fellow (Centre of African Studies, University of Edinburgh, Scotland). His research interests include the social determinants of health, African culture and health, gender and health, health policy, bioethics and medical humanities, work-family dimensions of health, and the various theoretical and methodological issues in the health social sciences. He has national as well as international publications to his credit, and has presented research output at local and international conferences, notable among which is the co-authored work on “Coronavirus outbreak in Nigeria: Burden and socio-medical response during the first 100 days” (2020) - a highly acclaimed social science contribution to COVID-19 scholarship, published in the International Journal of Infectious Diseases. Victor is the Co-Recipient (Nigeria) of the Catalyst Grant on “Emerging Population and Health Concerns in West Africa” (2021).
