My name is Iwabi Abraham Modahunsi. I have B. Ed (English), M. A. English (Literature) and PhD English (Literature) from the University of Ibadan. My area of specialization is Literature and Medicine, a subspecialty of the Medical Humanities. I teach Literature and Medicine, as well as Bioethics, in the Institute of Health Humanities, University of Medical Sciences, Ondo, Ondo State, Nigeria. I have scholarly articles in national and International journals. I do research the interface between Literature and Medicine, paying attention to the representations of diseases such as sickle cell anaemia, cancer, psychiatric episodes, low sperm count, malaria, etc. in literary texts. This covers the works of physician-writers, patient-writers and non-patient writers. I pay attention to scriptotherapy and pathography, encompassing narrative medicine.
