Dr. David Olusegun Agbaje was born on 26th September 1958 in Owo, Ondo State, Nigeria. He is bilingual and holds a Ph.D. in English (African Literature), an M.A in English, B.Ed. Language Arts and NCE English/French.
He is an author, poet, literary critic, teacher, and retired Customs Officer. He taught English and French at Rufus Giwa Polytechnic, Owo, from where he transferred his service to the Nigeria Customs Service. He retired in 2017 as Assistant Comptroller-General of Customs.
His creative works and scholarly papers have been published in reputable local and international journals. He wrote a book entitled, " Poetry and the Aesthetics of Commitment in South African Literature, Volume 1."
He has participated in many poetry reading events in Nigeria, the United Kingdom, and Canada, and has won several awards. His marriage to his late wife produced five Children.
He is now happily married to Dr. Funmilayo J. Agbaje.
