Dr. Idris Ajayi Oyemitan, was born on the 15th June 1967 at Ikare-Akoko, Ondo State. He completed his primary education in 1979 and also passed-out from Comprehensive High School, Ikare-Akoko in 1985. He graduated in 1991 with B. Pharm degree and also obtained M.Sc. M.Phil. and PhD Pharmacology from OAU, Ile-Ife in 2005, 2007 and 2011 respectively. He started his academic career at the Department of Pharmacology, Faculty of Pharmacy, Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife in 2010 as lecturer II and has been promoted to Reader (Associate Professor in 2018). Dr. Oyemitan have successfully supervised several postgraduate students. He has attended and participated in several international conferences in Bulgaria, Malaysia and South Africa. He has published more than 40 research articles in reputable journals, over 600 citations and have h-index of 13 (Google Scholar). He is a devoted Christian and happily married. His hobbies include listening to news and trekking.
