Dr. B.E. Bankole is the Deputy Director (Research) at the Center for Molecular Biosciences and Medical Genomics and also a lecturer at the Department of Microbiology, UNIMED, Ondo. She holds a B.Sc degree in Applied Microbiology from Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, an M.Sc in Medical Microbiology from the University of Lagos and a PhD in Molecular Biology and Genomics from the African Center of Excellence for Genomics of Infectious Diseases (ACEGID), Redeemers University, Ede, with a focus on Malaria Genomics. During her PhD program she received the H3Africa Travel Fellowship, participated in COVID 19 diagnosis and was involved with the validation of novel RDT tests for Ebola and Lassa fever, to increase the capacity for rapid disease surveillance in the event of an outbreak. She has also also received Foundational and Advanced hands-on trainings in genomics at the Broad Institute, USA and was an Associate lecturer for four years in RUN Ede.
