The University of Medical Sciences (UNIMED), Ondo City, Ondo State

The University of Medical Sciences (UNIMED), Ondo City, Ondo State is the First (1st) Specialized Medical and Health Sciences institution in West Africa.

Over the last 10 years, the University has carved a niche by being one of the few public universities with a stable & uninterrupted academic calendar and exceptional educational service delivery.

The University hereby invites all eligible stalities to apply for INTER-UNIVERSITY TRANSFER in the 2025/2026 ACADEMIC SESSION.

1. GUIDELINES FOR INTER-UNIVERSITY TRANSFER ADMISSION

a) Eligibility

  1. The Inter-University Transfer mode is available only to candidates who have completed at least two academic semesters or one academic session in the same programme at a JAMB-recognized institution.
  2. Applicants must also satisfy the basic admission requirements of the University and their respective departments.
  3. The University will not consider students who have been advised to withdraw from their current Institution and/or are currently facing any disciplinary action(s).

b) Level of Admission

Transfer applicants will ONLY BE considered for admission into 200 Level.

However, returnee candidates from conflict zones such as Ukraine, Russia, or Sudan may be considered for admission into 300 Level, provided they pass the required assessment in Anatomy, Biochemistry and Physiology.

c) Required Supporting Documents

  1. O’ Level Result: For admission into specialized programmes such as Medicine & Surgery, Dentistry, and Doctor of Physiotherapy, candidates must present their O’ Level result with all required credits obtained in a single sitting.
  2. JAMB Admission Letter: For candidates transferring from institutions within Nigeria, the JAMB Admission letter reflecting their current programme is COMPULSORY, else the application form will not be considered.
  3. Required CGPA: Admission into programmes such as Medicine & Surgery, Dentistry, and Doctor of Physiotherapy is subject to availability of space and requires a minimum CGPA of 4.50 on a 5.0 scale; Nursing Science & Doctor of Pharmacy minimum of 4.0 on a scale of 5.0; others minimum of 3.50 on a scale of 5.0.
  4. Academic Transcript: The applicant’s official transcript must be sent directly from their previous institution to the Office of the Registrar, University of Medical Sciences, Laje Campus, Ondo City.
  5. Medical fitness report from a Government Hospital.
  6. Reference letter from previous institution either from the Vice-Chancellor, Provost, Registrar, Dean or Head of Department.

2. METHOD OF APPLICATION

  1. Duly completed Online Application form must be printed out in triplicates (3) which should be clearly labelled “Inter-University Transfer”; sealed in an envelope and forwarded to the Office of the Registrar, University of Medical Sciences, Laje Campus, Ondo not later than one (1) week after the payment of application fee otherwise, it will not be treated.
  2. Academic transcript of the candidate must be forwarded directly by the applicant’s previous Institution to the Registrar, University of Medical Sciences, Ondo within two (2) weeks of application otherwise, it will not be treated.
  3. University of Medical Sciences, Ondo reserves the right to conduct background check(s) on prospective candidates and if it is discovered at any time that any false or misleading information has been stated on this application, the candidate will be disqualified and the student may be required to withdraw from the University at any point in time.

3. ONLINE APPLICATION FEE

Two Hundred and Fifty Thousand Naira (N250,000.00) – Non-Refundable

4. MODE OF PAYMENT FOR APPLICATION (ONLINE)

Payment is ONLY via the UNIMED PAYMENT PLATFORM. Log on to www.unimed.edu.ng, Click Admission, Inter-University Transfer, and follow the instructions.
NOTE: You can only use VISA or MASTER Card. VERVE Cards are not allowed.

5. DISCLAIMER

Kindly note that the University does NOT have individual/group agents. For the avoidance of doubt, valid and authentic details about admissions into the programmes offered by UNIMED can be obtained only at the University's administrative and liaison offices; and at the university's website www.unimed.edu.ng.
