It is with great pleasure that I welcome you on behalf of the Board of Postgraduate School to the first specialized Medical University in Nigeria, University of Medical Sciences (UNIMED), Ondo City, Ondo State. Our mission is to build a Centre of Excellence that will empower graduates capable of translating their acquired academic knowledge in various fields of Medical Sciences into applied research skills that will facilitate the reduction of disease burden and improvement of health care in Nigeria and the world, at large.

The Postgraduate School (PGS) was established at the commencement of the second phase of our academic development in this University, after the convocation of the first set of graduates in the Departments of Anatomy, Biochemistry and Physiology in December 2019. Our academic community takes pride in the Unimed Experience which offers you a peaceful, interactive, productive and successful uninterrupted academic environment.

The Postgraduate School is responsible for the overall management of all graduate Programmes of this University and in collaboration with all faculties, provides the oversight and administrative service for postgraduate studies. The School is headed by the Dean, Professor Roseangela I. Nwuba, who also chairs the Board of the Postgraduate School.

The Postgraduate School is linked to the registry section of the University and the management of the School is vested in its Board with Deans of Faculties/Schools and Principal Officers as statutory members. The Management team is headed by the Dean and is presently assisted by the Principal Assistant Registrar/Secretary to the Board and an Administrative Officer. 

The School will be offering Masters Degree Programmes for the 2020/21 academic session in Anatomy, Biochemistry, Physiology and Public Health; as well as Postgraduate Diploma courses in various faculties within the University. Prospective candidates should apply online on the University website.

I want to use this opportunity to appreciate the past Deans, Prof. A.O. Nwaopara, Prof. K.S. Akinlade and Prof. W.O. Olu-Aderounmu for their sense of commitment and the progress made so far towards the actualization of the Postgraduate School.
