INTERNAL/EXTERNAL ADVERTISEMENT FOR VACANT ACADEMIC STAFF AND TECHNICAL POSITIONS

Requirements

Professor (CONUASS 07)

·       Candidates should possess a Bachelor of Pharmacy (B. Pharm.) or Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) degree and a PhD Degree from a recognized University/Institute with at least twelve (12) years teaching, research and administrative experience in a tertiary institution or has been an Associate Professor or Reader for a minimum of three (3) years, preceding the date of application.

·       Candidates must possess demonstrable ability to participate in inter/multi-disciplinary research, supervise post-graduate students, including doctorate (Ph.D.) students in area of his/her expertise and be competent to provide academic leadership.

·       Candidates must also be specialists in core areas of the department of interest with evidence of a minimum twenty-five (25) scholarly publications in both local and international reputable learned journals, plus current registration with the Pharmacy Council of Nigeria (PCN).

·       Possession of the Fellowship of the West African Postgraduate College of Pharmacy (FPCPharm.) may be advantageous. Reader/Associate Professor (CONUASS 06)

·       Candidates should possess a Bachelor of Pharmacy (B. Pharm.) or Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) degree and a PhD Degree from a recognized University/Institute with at least nine (9) years teaching, research and administrative experience in a tertiary institution or has been a Senior Lecturer for a minimum of three (3) years, preceding the date of application.

·       Candidates must possess demonstrable ability to participate in inter/multi-disciplinary research, supervise post-graduate students, including doctorate (Ph.D.) students in area of his/her expertise and be competent to provide academic leadership.

·       Candidates must also be specialists in core areas of department of interest with evidence of twenty (20) scholarly publications in both local and international reputable learned journals, plus registration with relevant professional bodies and operational licence.

·       Possession of the Fellowship of the West African Postgraduate College of Pharmacy (FPCPharm.) may be advantageous.

 

Senior Lecturer (CONUASS 05)

·       Candidates should possess a Bachelor of Pharmacy (B. Pharm.) or Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) degree and a PhD Degree from a recognized University/Institute with at least six (6) years teaching, research and administrative experience in a tertiary institution or has been a Lecturer I for a minimum of three (3) years, preceding the date of application.

·       Candidates must possess demonstrable ability to participate in inter/multi-disciplinary research, supervise post-graduate students his/her expertise and be competent to provide academic leadership.

·       Candidates must also be specialists in core areas of department of interest with evidence of twelve (12) scholarly publications in both local and international reputable learned journals, plus registration with relevant professional bodies and operational licence.

·       Possession of the Fellowship of the West African Postgraduate College of Pharmacy (FPCPharm.) may be advantageous.

 

Lecturer I (CONUASS 04)

·       Candidates should possess a Bachelor of Pharmacy (B. Pharm.) or Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) degree and a PhD Degree from a recognized University/Institute with current registration with the Pharmacy Council of Nigeria (PCN).

·       For a non-pharmacist, it is expected that he/she has at least three (3) years of teaching and research experience in a University or related educational institution, and a minimum of five (5) original scholarly publications in reputable local and international journals.

·       An ability to supervise post-graduate students in the area of his/her expertise.

·       Ability to teach courses at the undergraduate level with evidence of practical skills and competence.

·       Membership of relevant professional bodies and operational licence is also a must.

 

Lecturer II (CONUASS 03)

·       Candidate must possess a Bachelor of Pharmacy (B. Pharm.) or Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) degree with current registration with the Pharmacy Council of Nigeria (PCN) or relevant first degree.

·       A Masters (M.Sc.) degree or Fellowship of the West African Postgraduate College of Pharmacy (FPCPharm) in the relevant field, with evidence of registration for a Ph.D. degree in the same field or research area or show readiness to acquire the relevant academic degree(s) at the shortest possible time.

·       For non-pharmacists, a doctorate (Ph.D.) degree in the relevant field is needed.

·       Evidence of teaching and research experience in a University or related educational institution, as well as evidence of a good number of scholarly publications in reputable journals will be an added advantage.

·       Ability to teach courses and supervise under-graduate students in the area of his/her expertise, with evidence of practical skills and competence.

 

Assistant Lecturer

·       Candidate for this post MUST possess a Bachelor of Pharmacy (B. Pharm.) or Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) degree with current registration with the Pharmacy Council of Nigeria (PCN) and a registration for a M.Sc. degree in the candidate’s chosen field of expertise, or relevant first degree.

·       A Masters (M.Sc.) degree in the respective field, with evidence of registration for a Ph.D. degree in the same field or research area (for non-pharmacist)

·       Evidence of practical skills and competence.

 

Technologist I/II

·       A candidate for this post MUST possess Higher National Diploma (HND) or Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) in Science Laboratory Technology and other relevant areas, such Computer Science registrable with Nigerian Institute for Science and Technology (NIST)

·       At least one (1) year for Technologist II and three (3) years for Technologist I of relevant working experience with evidence of practical skills and competence.

 

Herbarium Curator

·       Candidate for this post MUST possess Higher National Diploma (HND) in Forestry or Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) degree in Botany, with bias in Taxonomy.

·       A good knowledge of plant identification skills, including herbs, shrubs, and trees.

·       General and specific understanding of the workings and maintenance of a herbarium.

·       Membership of relevant professional bodies.

·       At least three (3) years of relevant working experience with evidence of practical skills and competence.
