Dear students,

The Departments of Medical Laboratory Science and Physiotherapy are housed administratively in the Faculty of Allied Health Sciences. The Faculty is committed to providing every student with an intensive knowledge of the natural and basic medical sciences required to build a solid foundation for applied health sciences. You will, therefore, take courses in Faculties of Sciences and Basic Medical Sciences before settling down to enroll in courses in your professional program.

The mission of the Faculty of Allied Health Sciences is to train and empower our graduates to be capable of providing solutions to health challenges and research leading to improving the health care of the local and global communities. The administration is upgrading the existing programs in line with global best practices. We have a plan to establish new curriculum in Occupational Therapy, Optometry, Biomedical Engineering and Radiography in the nearest future. We are also committed to community development, intensive teaching, and research.

With an enabling and conducive environment for physical and mental development, coupled with the vibrancy and dynamism of our academic and technical staff, you will have the opportunities to actualize your dream. In this Faculty, there are opportunities to explore new ideas that could eventually result in discovery or invention.

I firmly believe with your hard work, dedication, and perseverance, you will overcome any hurdle encountered in the course of actualizing your dream in the Faculty.

I, therefore, want to advise you not to engage in any form of social vices as well as examination malpractice to avoid suspension or expulsion from the university. Take your laboratory postings and practical classes seriously. Seek genuine and timely help from your lecturers, guardian, counselors and the faculty advisors. While sincerely welcoming you onboard, I wish you all the best in your endeavors.

Sincerely,
